The concert is moved to fall, the new time is Sunday 4 October 2020 at 6 pm at the House of Nobility. We will announce the start of ticket sale later.
The recorder virtuoso Ingeborg Christophersen joins Barokkanerne for a musical journey to Venice – The pearl of the Adriatic, which once was one of the most powerful and richest cities in the world. With the recorder as a starting point, this program explores the rich musical heritage of the maritime Republic of Venice in the 17th and 18th century with composers like Giovanni Bassano, Dario Castello, Baldassare Galuppi, Giovanni Legrenzi, Biagio Marini, Marco Uccellini and especially Antonio Vivaldi.
Vivaldi's numerous virtuosic concertos for the flautino represent some of the most demanding and magnificent music ever written for the instrument. They picture the Venetian prestezza, where the process of writing was characterized by a gargantuan tempo of creation combined with a masterly sense of form.
Barokkanerne – Norwegian Baroque Ensemble, based in Oslo, is a result of a merge between Barokkanerne and Norwegian Baroque Orchestra. Both ensembles made their debuts in the late 1980s and have since been leading early music ensembles in Norway. They have appeared at numerous festivals throughout Europe. Ingeborg Christophersen is one of Norway’s finest recorder players and is appreciated for her virtuosity, musicality and inviting way of presenting the music.
