Are you in need of gift ideas? Here’s a couple of options to make the choice easier.
1) You can download a slightly different gift card (in Finnish) here. You can send it electronically or print it and give to the recipient. Before you hand over the gift, you only have to decide how many tickets the gift consists of. When the recipient has chosen the concerts, you buy the tickets as you normally would. Links to the ticket shop are available for instance on each concert page.
These gift cards will also be available on paper at the FiBO concerts in spring.
2) You can buy tickets to the Residency Series at the House of Nobility in the FiBO web shop. When you buy the ticket you only choose the ticket price (52/37/29/15 €) according to the seat. If you wish to gift more than one ticket you can do so by adding the amount of tickets you want to the basket. They can be from different price categories. The gift recipient can then choose which concert to use the tickets for. The specific seat (in the correct price category) is then chosen together with the FiBO office team by e-mailing lippu(at)fibo.fi. The seating can be discussed beginning in early January (no e-mails are replied to during the Christmas break). The tickets are valid for concerts during spring 2024.
Please note that after you have paid for your purchase you get the ticket from the web shop by pressing the Download button below the ticket information or in the order confirmation/receipt in your e-mail. After that you can download the ticket or print it.

Which of the concerts in the spring season 2024 would the FiBO Artistic Board choose to gift to their family and friends? The concert in the Top European Choirs Series on 17th February together with Vox Luminis gets a mention from everybody, but otherwise the “votes” diverge.
Laura Kajander, Executive Manager
It’s really hard to choose favourites from the spring concerts! I’m really excited about every program due to different reasons, but here’s a selection: The Waves of the Baltic Sea on 13th March is inspiring because of the bold programme planning, the concert with Vox Luminis in the Top European Choirs Series on 17th February promises heavenly choir sounds (I just heard the choir in Utrecht). The theme heart, vapours and fluids – ie. feelings welling up – is probably going to be present not only in the concert with that name on 28th April but in other concerts during the spring season as well.
Marianna Henriksson, Artisic Planner
It’s fantastic that the harpsichordist Marcin Świątkiewicz is returning on 4th February (Järvenpää 5th February), this time performing something from the deep end of the harpsichord repertoire, Bach’s concerto in D minor. The program is action packed in other ways as well, it’s a celebration of chamber music-like orchestral playing. You should not miss the concert with Vox Luminis on 17th February: they are one of the most interesting early music ensembles in Europe and with their work they make you realise that the focus of music used to be on vocal music. I’m also looking forward to the Sibelius concert on 25th May (Hämeenlinna 24th May)! It’s a completely alien world to me, because of my instrument I have never played any Sibelius and I probably never will. It’s interesting how Sibelius is nuanced through what our orchestra does. We have plenty of HIP expertise (HIP = historically informed performance): our flutist Pauliina Fred has researched instruments that were in use during Sibelius’ own time. Of my own programmes, I’m delighted to work with the concerts The Waves of the Baltic Sea on 13th March and The Heart, Vapours and Fluids on 28th April. The repertoire of those concerts is very close to my heart.

When I was asked to choose a couple of favourites from our spring concerts I thought it to be an almost impossible task! It’s almost like asking you to choose a favourite child! The first one is easy – it’s our concert together with the choir Vox Luminis on 17th February. I’ve admired the choir for a long time, and when we heard the choir in Utrecht together with Laura and Marianna it only reinforced the feeling! The program is versatile and very beautiful, and it’s good fun to lead together. Another favourite is the third concert at the House of Nobility, The Heart, Vapours and Fluids together with Tuuli Lindeberg on 28th April. I think that humoral theory is a very interesting subject (I’ve once before planned a concert programme with hypochondria as the theme, and I see many similarities) and the programme also casts a light on many lesser known composers.
