A preview of the upcoming opera

Soulmaidens, launching the collaboration between the Finnish Baroque Orchestra and the Finnish National Opera, will premiere at Alminsali on 8 October 2026. The work combines the music theatre of Claudio Monteverdi—considered one of the first composers in opera history—with contemporary puppet theatre.
The summer concert on the patio of the Musiikkitalo offers a preview of Soulmaidens. Performers include Tuuli Lindeberg, who sings the roles of Arianna and the Soulmaiden, and Marianna Henriksson, who is responsible for the musical direction of the production.
The concert is part of the Boreallas series, a set of pre-events and accompanying programmes for the international Aria Borealis Baroque singing competition held in October, offering a wide range of free experiences.
In case of rain, the concert will take place indoors in the main foyer of the Musiikkitalo.
