Vikings meet the Baroque! The narrative grand concert combines Nordic folk music and Baroque music with a Viking voyage theme. In this Concerto Grosso production, subtitled Viking Barokk, over 300 musicians, from beginners to professionals, enter the stage and play together. They are joined by several rhythmic gymnastics teams. Friends of Baroque music are offered a unique chance to experience four Nordic top Baroque orchestras in the same concert.
The event will tour the Nordic countries during the winter: in November 2018 it is organised in Oslo and Helsinki, in January 2019 in Stockholm, and in February 2019 in Reykjavik.
During the concert days, there will be different Baroque Viking themed lobby events and pop up concerts in the lobbies of the concert halls. The lobby events include various concerts, but also art exhibitions, dance and gymnastics.
The programme for the lobby events will be published in October 2018.
